Possible....: Acute bronchitis is usually due to an acute infection of the airways, typically from a bacterial or viral infection. You may be taking an antibiotic which is not effective against the bacteria in the airways. If it is due to a virus, the antibiotic will not be effective. Another cause of your symptoms may be bronchospasm which is not from an infection at all but can mimic acute bronchitis.
