A member asked:

Expert opinion please: could smoking weed negatively affect my anti depressants?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It depends: In general weed it bad for your health since you are likely smoking it.. It can interact with your antidepressants by altering your liver' s metabolism. It can cause depression, psychosis, abulia(lack of motivation) and can worsen social anxiety. I have also seen several cases of severe depersonalization with thc use. It can also cause a fixation of the personality at the age heavy use started.
