Will doctors have to keep information confidential?

Yes, by law: Medical information is kept private unless the patient signs a specific release. The only exception is when the doctor feels that the patient intends imminent harm to self or someone else. In that case, s/he may ask for help to get emergency care for you. For minors, parents need to be involved in their medical care. What remains private would depend on the child's age and safety level.
