RICE: Rice therapy stands for rest, ice, compression and elevation. Compression can be achieved with a neoprene ankle sleeve or ace wrap and elevation should be above the level of your heart. If the swelling does not subside within 2-3 weeks you need to see a foot and ankle specialist.

See your: Doctor to determine the cause of the swelling. Was there an injury? If not it could be a number of things that cause it.
