A member asked:

Is there any pain involved in an endoluminal gastroplication?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Nausea, not pain: Endoluminal plication is only appropriate as part of an investigational study. Downsides include: ulceration, trapped food, injury to adjacent tissue, inability to offer salvage procedures, non-reversability, and lack of long-term data. There is no evidence that the plication reduces the hunger hormone (ghrelin) which is so important in sleeve, bypass.
