A member asked:

Fm 49 trans-vaginal ultrasound dec 2012 gave endometrium thickness 9mm, on march 2013 it says endometrial thickness 14mm. irregular periods from2month?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See an OB/GYN doctor: In general, gradual thickening of the lining of the uterus (the endometrium) is abnormal. Now, during our menstrual cycle, the lining thickens and sheds off with each period. Progressive thickening might mean abnormalities in the ovary hormones, so that you don't have a normal "shedding, " or possibly a disease that allows overgrowth -- like benign "hyperplasia, " or rarely, a cancer. Good luck!
