Abnormal rise in HCG: The HCG level is not rising appropriately. This could be due to a variety of reasons the most concerning one is the presence of an ectopic pregnancy (pregnancy that is developing outside the uterus). This is a life threatening condition and requires a very close follow up with your obgyn. It could also be due to other reasons such as a failed pregnancy.. The Progesterone is normal.

HCG not increasing: Like it should. If there is a true gestational sac in the uterus, then would suspect a blighted ovum. If not, then would wonder about an ectopic pregnancy - esp if any abdominal pain. That would be an emergency. Please stay in close contact with your ob/gyn physician.
