Seizures: Absence seizures are a common form of pediatric seizures diagnosed on eeg. There are 5 patterns of absence seizure of which 2 can start in adolescence: juvenile absence and juvenile myoclonic. The chances of out growing it depend on what type of absence seizure so it is important to ask his doctor what type of absence seizures your son is having. I strongly recommend supportive counselling!
