Post nasal drip: Sudden onset of post nasal drainage suggests an infection.Try using sinus rinses.Several products are available: either by gravity (netti pot), by squeeze bottle(nielmed, ayr) or mechanical (sinugator by nielmed or sinusense by waterpik). They all deliver salt water to wash the mucus out forward. You can also add: 1/4 tsp of baking soda +1/4 tsp sea salt + 1/4 tsp of baby shampoo all in 8oz water.

Probably: The post-nasal drip you speak of can be because of allergy, a cold, or the beginning of a sinus infection. Most upper respiratory infections will have this symptom and most will resolve within 7-10 days. Treat with nasal saline rinses and otc decongestants if necessary. If your symptoms worsen despite these measures you may need to see your md for an antibiotic and additional treatment.
