Globus hystericus: Could be related to mental illness. However a barium x -ray may help rule out anatomical causes of the same feeling like esophageal web or strictures.

Further testing: Although this is likely not a serious medical problem, i would suggest further evaluation. If it is not getting better an MRI might be needed to look at the soft tissues (ct is better for bone). Seeing an ear -nose-throat specialist might also help elucidate the problem as well.
