Cool and aloe: Calamine is not a good idea for sunburn - it dries out the skin further. Take frequent cool showers to cool the temperature of the skin, and then liberally apply an unscented, no alcohol lotion with aloe. Let skin air dry after the showers -don't rub skin. If not better in a couple of days, or she develops ill feeling or fever, she needs to be seen. These injuries are burns and can be serious.
