Comparing Medication: I think that most of us here online would be neutral on this question. They are both successfully used to treat millions of human's and are both considered effective and safe for routine use.

Hard to answer: Both drugs are safe and generally well tolerated if taken as recommended. They have slightly different side effects which is why one may be used instead of the other. I would suggest asking your doctor why he/she chose one over the other in a particular case.

Relative safety: Within appropriate dosage limits, both are safe and effective for depression. However, they have different neurotransmitter profiles. Prozac has anti-anxiety effects which wellbutrin (bupropion) does not have; wellbutrin (bupropion) has less potential effects on sexual function. If you have a seizure disorder, brain tumor, or an eating disorder, wellbutrin (bupropion) would not be safe for you but Prozac might still be.
