Talk 2 someone: The best way to work through guilt is to talk with a therapist about it. I know it is hard to share serious guilt issues with a "stranger" but a good therapist will help you sort through why you feel guilty and help you either let go of the guilt or make retribution with whomever you feel you have hurt. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Guilt: Guilt is often driven by accentuating the effects of your actions on others. Talk to a mental health professional who can help you examine the behaviors you regret objectively, this can open new doors for you as your view is far too subjective. Best.

Guilt/shame: Shame/guilt is just about the darkest emotion people can face. It presupposes that there's an audience to our alleged wrongdoings, and that devastating judgement will be passed. Something to remember is that everyone has something they feel ashamed about; it's inescapable. Find a reputable psychotherapist to speak with. Getting it off one's chest in a safe, nonjudgmental place is the first step.
