Protects: If you are not immune to measles, mumps, or rubella this vaccine protects you from risks of these diseases. Internationally these illnesses are common, but also occur in the usa. If uncertain if at risk because immune status unknown, ask for an MMR titer prior to considering vaccine. If born after 1956(especially between 1957 & 1970) may well need booster.
