Teen depression: Teen angst is not unusual. But if a teen is chronically angry, irritable, down or isolative - that is not normal. If the teen has declining grades, seems more oppositional, is smoking tobacco or other substances, is drinking alcohol or using illicit drugs - these would be red flags for a problem. The best plan may be to have the teen see his/her physician with a complete run down of sxs.
