A member asked:

Is it possible to fracture your ankle without swelling?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not likely: The body has a normal response pattern to injuries. Swelling, bruising and pain are typical for most fractures. If you have fractured your ankle and there is no swelling there may be some other unknown medical problem. If you are concerned that you have fractured your ankle you should get an x-ray.
