A 40-year-old member asked:

In your 30's 40's and 50's, what are the chances of needing any kind of surgery?

Dr. Mark Kuhnke
General Surgery 42 years experience
Not rare: I can't give you a percentage, but if you consider all the variety of procedures possible, from oral extractions to skin lesions to orthopoedic repairs to simple hernias to the complex GI procedure to cardiothoracic procedures, there's a good chance something will be needed, and i'm not even including colonoscopy and other endoscopic procedures. Good luck.
Created for people with ongoing healthcare needs but benefits everyone.
