Depression sx:: Feeling sad, irritable or angry. There can be v sex drive & energy or motivation levels. One may socially isolate or stop involvement in normal activities. Sleep, appetite & weight may ^ or v. Concentration, memory & self esteem may v as well as an absence of joy, feelings of helplessness or hopelessness.There may be crying spells or thoughts about death or suicide. Not enough room for bipolar sxs.

Bipolar: Dr. Fowler described major depressive d/o for you. Bipolar d/o includes episodes of both depression and mania/hypomania. Mania means times of increased energy, less need for sleep, feeling of racing thoughts & speech, increased impulsive behavior, sometimes poor judgment, elated or euphoric mood which can progress to irritable; can become psychotic with delusions and hallucinations too.
