Yes, anemia is bad!: Anemia is the lack of sufficient red blood cells (rbcs) which are responsible for carrying oxygen to the body. Lack of oxygen can cause loss of neurologic functions, including speech, so anemia could be a cause of the speech problem. However, the correlation is usually with pretty severe anemia, and if the anemia is not severe, then other causes need to be sought.
