Many ways: Known to produce decrease intelligence affect development and behavior cause cardiovascular problem such as heart murmur and congestive failure of the heart. Decrease linear growth because iron contained in the hematologic is bone growth factor.

Signs & symptoms: Include fatigue, exercise intolerance, headache, pallor, etc. Therapy depends upon the underlying cause, and causes of anemia are many and varied. They can result from impaired rbc production (eg., nutritional deficiencies, marrow infiltration, etc), hematoma, blood loss, hemolysis, thalassemia, hemoglobinopathies, etc. Children need rx to avoid negative consequences of prolonged anemia.
