A member asked:

Is it possible to have allergic asthma without asthma?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not really.: Asthma is a complicated airway response to some irritant, generally. In some patients, allergens in the air are major triggers. Their symptoms may only be noticeable in certain seasons or with certain exposures. This is usually called extrinsic (allergic) asthma. Others have a predisposition (intrinsic) to this airway response and triggers are not obvious. Either way, it needs controlled.
