A member asked:

In the near future, will there likely be a 'smart' insulin that will not cause hypoglycemia?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Since insulin: Lowers blood sugar, there will always be the potential for hypoglycemia whenever Insulin is administered, even if by a mechanical mechanism such as a pump. It's hard to make a protein that thinks and can turn itself off and on when it has no brain, sensor, nervous system etc.
