Cervical stenosis is: Cervical stenosis is more common as we age. Although younger individuals can be afflicted it is most common for people over the age of 50. Depending on how much narrowing exists, will influence the severity and type of symptoms.

Both : There is a genetic component to cervical stenosis but most often it is the result of repetitive injury and arthritic/degenerative changes as we get older.
