"mom, I'm hungry": These can be very powerful words to control a parent. Food tastes good, and the "i'm hungry" satisfies that if you let it. Try a deal with her - have her drink an 8 oz glass of water whenever she says that. Then wait 20 minutes - actually set a timer, so you are not the bad person. If after the water and waiting 20 minutes she is still hungry, then she can have a healthy snack.

Other symptoms ?: If she appears to be losing weight, drinking lots of fluids and has a fruity breath, i would be concerned she was developing diabetes.If she engages in productive play with her friends, is growing well and can be satisfied by timed healthy snacks, she is likely in a growth spirt. If becoming obscessed with eating and a couch potatoe, i would visit with her doc, get testing and visit a dietition.
