A member asked:

Had echo for eval of murmur. came back totally norm. i noticed that my right ventricle was 2.3cm (max is 2.5 i believe). is it ok being close to max?

What you described does not add up. Normal right ventricle is much thinner than 2.5 cm and a 2.3 cm right ventricle is hypertrophied. You need to consult with a cardiologist if your right ventricle is 2.3 cm thick. Wish you good health!

I am glad that your echo showed no abnormality . The measurement you are providing is the internal diameter of the right ventricle and not the wall thickness. The right ventricular size is highly dependent on technique unless the study was done by a competent technician. It is my impression that the echo was indeed normal. A heart murmur may be seen in the absence of “heart disease”.
