Tips for dry lips: Dry lips can occur during any season, especially in certain climate conditions. Avoid licking which aggravates the dryness and causes the lips to constantly chap. Instead, apply aquaphor or aveeno (oatmeal) healing ointment to moisten and mask from the sun.

You may want to ask your doctor also; sometimes a hydrocortisone lip balm can be compounded to use periodically if the lips are very dry and scaly.

Hydration: Most common cause of dry lips is dehydration, mouth breathing, dry air - especially with air conditioning as well as some medications which can have such side effects.
Try increasing your water intake, use a cool mist humidifier in bedrooms, and check side effects of your meds. If no resolution see your doctor for other causes.
