Period is 3 days late. i was spotting 2 days before it was due. took a pregnancy and it was negative negative. what could be going on?

Pregnancy: Do you normally have very regular cycles ? Is your weight fairly average. If so the it could still be pregnancy. Or occasionally one can have an irregular cycle, for any number of reasons, such as stress. Just wait a couple more days to see if the period starts as normal. If not then take another pregnancy test.
