Flex cysto: A very common urologic office procedure utilizing a soft flexible fiberoptic scope which is the same diameter as a typical urinary catheter. Xylocaine (lidocaine) jelly is introduced into the urethra about 5 minutes before the procedure. It typically pinches a bit only when the scope passes through the sphincter.
