A member asked:

Should folic acid be taken regularly when one wants to conceive?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: It is not a bad idea to take prenatal vitamins when trying to conceive. A lot of them have increased Folic Acid levels when compared to regular vitamins. 600 mcg/day is what is recommended for pregnancy, and it is safe to take this amount while trying to get pregnant.
