IUI and Semen Need: Since semen has to be washed prior to insertion for iui, there will be a lower sperm count as the washing selects out the best "swimmers". Since motility(and the volume), are low, the absolute concentration of the final washed specimen will be lower than 57m/cc. A minimum concentration to consider doing IUI is 1m/cc. Results are best when it is > 10m/cc talk with your IUI md about success rates.
