Depends how low ...: In general intrauterine insemination (iui) may help with mild to moderate sperm problems but ivf with icsi (intracytoplasmic sperm injection) is better for severe sperm problems. If semen analysis shows total motile counts (tmc) of less than 10 million on more than one sa, or IUI preparations have less than 2 million 'postwash' tmc (after the sperm is prepared) on a regular basis, icsi is needed.
