It's a low carb diet: The atkins diet is a high-fat, low-carbohydrate diet designed to help you lose weight, similar to the south beach diet. You can buy books showing you how to do it. Some people do very well on atkins, but many others don't lose that much. You can abuse it (example: eat a pound of bacon). Better: mediterranean diet--no red meat, sugar, or white starch. Eat lots fresh produce, whole grains, olive oil.
