Miscarriage: Those numbers are consistent with a miscarriage but should be followed until the levels return to negative. In a normal pregnancy the HCG level will double every 2 to 3 days in the early weeks. Progesterone levels and transvaginal sonograms can also be useful in monitoring the health of an early pregnancy.
