Implantation bleed: If you have experienced a brownish period a week before you are due to have your normal period, it could mean that there was bleeding caused by the embryo implanting. Also it could mean that there is a hormonal imbalance or a luteal phase defect caused by low progesterone. Doing a home pregnancy test as early as 25-28 days from your last period would be a good idea.
