Is there a Family Hx: It sounds like you might have a familial form of anemia. E.G. Pernicious anemia. I think you might benefit from a visit to a hematologist, it does not sound as though your iron level is low secondary to diet. It could be low secondary to excessive loss (do you have heavy periods), or decreased production (which iron supplements should have addressed). Is there a family history of anemia?
