My 4 year old has had a cough for the past month. should i have her seen?

Yes: Cough lasting for a month or more needs evaluation. Cough due to viral upper respiratory infection lasts for a week or so but not for a month, it could be just allergies or more than that. Do not give cough meds without consulting with the pediatrician.

See pediatrician: You should probably see physician. Chronic cough can frequently be related to allergy or asthma.Sometimes gastroesophageal reflux sometimes affects bronchus causing cough. Obvious sometimes viruses can initiate the problem and take weeks to clear, some of the above causes can be treated medically.
