If this happens more than once per year, have an evaluation. The doctor may recommend some blood work to ensure that you are fine.

Red eyes: Eyes are red from dryness, infection, interior inflammation, bleeding, and other causes. If the vision is diminished you need evaluation immediately. If the eye is painful you need evaluation very soon. Your ophthalmologist can sort this out.
