12 Step Meetings.: The first thing you can to do to help her is to take care of yourself. Encourage you to attend alanon meetings (or alateen depending on age). It will teach you about tough love and coping, when you love someone who is alcoholic. Encourage your mother to attend alcoholics anonymous. You could even go to an open meeting with her. But don't be surprised if she declines. Sometimes we just plant seeds.
