Tight control : Keeping blood glucose level close to normal range ( hemoglobin A1c 6.0) does delay the development of diabetic nephropathy and retinopathy as well.

Control diabetes: Uncontrolled diabetes is the number one reason why a person develops ckd. So inorder to delay or prevent ckd, you must control your blood sugar. You should aim for the lowest hemoglobin A1c you can obtain and this lower you risk of developing ckd.
