Inhaled Steroids: Most inhaled steroids have little or no systemic absorption hence minimal systemic side effects. Inhaled steroids can cause a dry cough which sometimes by problematic. However, the most common adverse effect of inhaled steroids is thrush affecting the oral mucosa and possibly the bronchial tree. It is best to rinse the mouth thouroghly after each use. This will minimize the risk for thrush.
