A member asked:

I'm not sure, but should over-the-counter antibiotic creams such as neosporin be outlawed?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

I don't think so: These antibiotic ointments should be used sparingly and under certain circumstances, usually in deeper cuts and abrasions. I don't think they should be outlawed because they can be very beneficial if used properly. Not every cut needs a band aid and neosporin. If anything they should discontinue the sale of antibacterial soaps.
