Bacterial Vaginosis: Gardnerella is a type of bacteria that causes vaginitis. It often causes a heavy, watery, fishy smelling discharge with vaginal irritation. One is susceptible to Gardnerella if the pH ( acidity level) of the vagina is thrown off. These infections should be treated with antibiotics. See a gyn. Avoid infections by taking probiotics ( acidophilus) and sometimes Vitamin C can help.
