Yes : Anxiety and depression can affect gerd significantly. The area with the largest concentration of serotonin is actually in your gut. Therefore any anxiety you experience is felt as "butterflies" in your stomach. However, at the same time, the medication used for anxiety and depression can also cause gerd.
