A member asked:

Can a torn tindon in the sholder heal on it's on?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Tendons: Do not heal on its own if it is torn. If it is completely torn, there is no hope for improvement without surgery. Sometimes surgery is not possible or advisable if it is too far gone. If is is partially torn, surrounding muscles can sometimes take over its function and your symptoms might improve with physical therapy. Consult your orthopedic surgeon for details.
