A member asked:

Can bronchitis be cured w/out antibiotics. i've heard 2 points of view: 1)antibiotics are necessary, 2) they don't really help a lot. what is true?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends on cause: If the bronchitis is being caused by a bacterial infection then antibiotics are necessary to resolve the infection. If the bronchitis is being caused by a virus or is idiopathic in nature then antibiotics will not help.
