A member asked:

At what time empiric treatment for chlamydia is more efficient? son after exposure? or a week after exposure?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sooner the better: As with most infections the fewer the number of organisms the easier their eradication, at least theoretically. But what it also does is relieve symptoms if the therapy is correct, and also limits the possibility of transmission to others. Go for it, although the downside is possible reactions to therapy.
