Elevated LFT's: Several causes of elevated Liver function tests (liver enzymes) including but not limited to: Being overweight and having fatty infiltration (hepatic steatosis), viral illnesses such as the hepatitis viruses, cirrhosis, medications that go through the liver (including alcohol!), etc. Gi will perform further blood tests and discuss any further testing with you pending those results. Best wishes

Many causes: There are many reasons your liver enzymes can be high. If it was a one time test, lab error is possible. Some people have a benign disorder where liver enzymes are elevated due to a genetic disposition, and if this is the only symptom nothing more needs to be done. A blood test will tell. Many viral infections can cause elevated liver enzymes, again, blood tests can given an answer to this.
