Soma (carisoprodol) & menturation: Menstrual irregularity is not a common side effect. Number one side effect is its CNS depressant effects which in my opinion can interfere with the hypothalamus-pituaitary-axis, important in normal mensuration. It can also interfere with thecypc19, a liver enzyme important in synthesis of cholesterol & steroids, the building blocks of menstrual hormones.
