A member asked:

Can deficiency in iron cause a delay in menstrual periods?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes it can: Yes Iron deficiency which causes Anemia can cause delay in menstruation. But there can be other causes as well and most common is pregnancy, and other hormonal changes, early menopause So at age 45 you are close to menopause as well, but if it is due to Iron Deficiency, correct it by Iron Therapy prescribed by your doctor depending on your Iron Level and Periods may resume
