"Arthritis" : This is a degenerative process similar to arthritis, either due to a specific injury or a chronic/continuous trauma, all in the background of genetic predisposition. Little bony projections in one cervical vertebrae connect with the other to form small joints and this is where the problem is. The process has extended into surrounding canals that permit nerves to exit. Nsaid, pt, epi, surgery.

Neck arthritis: This means that you have quite a bit of cervical spine arthritis. The nerves that exit from your spine going towards your shoulder and arms are being compressed due to the bony arthritic overgrowth. Some people who have this have no symptoms. Others can have severe neck pain and arm pain, numbness, tingling, weakness, and muscle loss. Hope this helps!
